My husband and I were on vacation from Smithfield, VA and were shocked to see a restaurant named "Smithfield's". We ate there everyday we were on vacation and everytime we were there the food was amazing and the staff could not have been nicer or more polite. They were great. Job well done to all the employees at the Morehead City location!

When the original Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q opened in downtown Smithfield in 1964, it was just called Smithfield's. The location was next to a pre-WWII movie theater, a tall brick box with tin ceilings, cloth awnings, and a sink in the dining room so the farmers could wash up before supper. Since then, we have grown to over 30 restaurants serving Eastern N.C. style (or vinegar-based ) BBQ, potato salad, cole slaw, fried chicken, and sweetened iced tea. At Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q, we focus exclusively upon creating the most enjoyable dining experience possible for our customers. We are committed to being exceptional hosts, always serving fresh food fast, with superior service and quality - while never wasting time, food, nor forgetting our manners.
