Brains, books, and bar-b-q – you can find them all at Harvard University!

Many, many thanks are due to loyal Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q fan, Frances Coggins, who sent us a fantastic note recently about her son John who is attending graduate school in Cambridge, MA at prestigious Ivy League school – Harvard University.

Frances and her husband had the delicious idea to send their son a shipment of fresh Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q. As do many of our customers who move out of the area (even just temporarily), John sure missed his bar-b-q!

Frances told us that not only was John excited about the unexpected gift, but that he also held a NC bar-b-q in his dorm room and invited his friends – now THAT is hospitality! (Of course, it’s not a Smithfield’s meal without hushpuppies, so one of John’s friends got to work preparing those, too.)

John wrote on facebook that he was sitting around a table with people representing FIVE continents of the World, most of who had never had the pleasure of trying bar-b-q. We were especially proud to hear that they all loved it!
