The Summer Youth Employment Program was implemented by the Capital Area Workforce Development Board. This program runs for 7 weeks and was developed to provide a paid work experience for the eligible youth in both Wake and Johnston Counties. Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q is proud to say that we have presented job opportunities and training to 13 qualified youths who may not have had a job before, or are from a low-income background. We hope we have provided these individuals with an opportunity that will help them to become productive members of society.
