Cary, NC: Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q will be participating in a St. Baldrick’s Foundation event held at the Hibernian Pub in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, February 28th, 2009. A local team, The Bald Entrepreneurs, will be participating at the Hibernian event and hosting a donor appreciation after party that evening. Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q will be providing food for the after- party.
St. Baldrick’s is the world’s largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Thousands of volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family. In 2008, The Bald Entrepreneurs donated over $17,000 for the foundation and are targeting $20,000 for this year’s event.
Volunteers for the event will have their heads shaved at the Hibernian Pub at 3:00 p.m. The after party will take place at 7:00 p.m. at Wakefield Plantation in North Raleigh. All donations to the event will be used to fund childhood cancer research.
