Cary, NC: Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q announced their sponsorship of a canned food drive for Basic Needs Ministry , a food pantry located in Garner, NC. The Smithfield’s locations will collect canned food donated by customers on behalf of Basic Needs until December 12 th . Customers who donate two cans of food will receive a free dessert of their choice.
“We wanted to give our customers an opportunity to help the less fortunate,” Smithfield’s C.E.O. and founder, Gregory Moore said. “Basic Needs is a wonderful organization and we hope to help them achieve their goals,” he added.
Basic Needs Ministry is the home of Cleveland Township Emergency Food Pantry, which is a Partner Agency with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and an affiliate of the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. Basic Needs Ministry and its volunteers provide free clothing and household goods to residents at the direction of more than 300 churches, schools, and agencies.
