We are at it again with another contest. Mother’s Day is right around the corner so we thought we’d honor all moms with a special little treat. Enter a photo of your mom, step-mom, or your daughter who’s a mom. It can be a current one or a favorite you have.

All entries will receive a $5 gift certificate from Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q.

Tell your friends and family to vote for your photo.

The photo with the most votes will receive a $50 Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q Gift Certificate as our grand prize winner.

Each day one entry will be randomly selected to be the “Fan of the Day” on our Facebook Timeline.

Elf on a Chicken Box Photo Contest Winner

Thank you everyone who participated in our “Elf on a Chicken Box” Photo Contest this week.  Our fans put their creative hats on and came up with some very nice photos of their elf on, in, and around our chicken box.

Elf on a Chicken Box Photo Contest

Have you heard of the Elf on the Shelf Holiday Tradition? It’s been growing in popularity for years now. It is the ultimate hide and seek game.  It’s a magical tradition for families with children during the holiday season.

The children’s book, “Elf on the Shelf” brings to life a magical Elf who sits in your house during the day but then at night, the Elf flies back to Santa to report on who has been naughty and who has been nice. Wait! Why would kids like that? Well, here’s the fun part. When the Elf comes back in the morning, he’s sitting in a different part of the house.  Families have been very creative on where the Elf appears the next day and kids really get into the game.

Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q wants your creativity for our “Elf on a Chicken Box” Photo Contest.  We are putting a twist on this fun holiday pastime and all you need to do to enter is take a picture of your elf on our chicken box.  You can be as tastefully creative as you’d like.  Guess what?  To play our game, you only have to be a kid at heart.

Upload your photo on our Facebook page by midnight on December 18th (one photo per email – click on the Elf on Box icon under the timeline to access contest app.) Tell your friends and family to vote for your photo.  Get as many “votes” as you can by December 20th.  The photo with the most votes by the deadline wins a $100 Gift Card to Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q.  Not a bad stocking stuffer!

All-American glory for fall 2012 tailgate promotions

Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q® (SCNB) is excited to announce the launch of their annual fall football promotions, including the always popular Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q® photo contest and a new addition to the lineup – The RealTailgate.com College Football podcast.

Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q® kicks off the 2012 fall football tailgating season with “The RealTailgate.com College Football Podcast”, sponsored by Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q”. Hosted by Demetri Ravanos (host of The Morning Drive on Talk Radio 850)  and Rashim Lee (editor and blogger for sports blog “Bottom of the 4th Quarter”), the weekly podcast will be focusing on college football in North Carolina. In studio guests will include collegiate coaches, college football analysts, other national media hosts and others. Demetri, Rashim and guests will hash out predictions, play-by-plays and the rivalries of the four ACC schools and ECU that the locals either love or hate: Duke, Carolina, NC State, Wake Forest, and ECU. The weekly podcast will be published on RealTailgate.com, theMesh.tv, as well as the iTunes store.

Alan Jackson, executive director of Jackson Group Interactive, who is helping to produce the weekly podcast says, “we are very excited to be working with Smithfield Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q® on delivering ‘The RealTailgate.com College Football Show’ through our online network of shows and podcasts  on TheMesh.tv.  The show complements the rest of our network’s offerings, and through the MESH network the show will be featured on Apple’s iTunes Podcast Store for people around North Carolina – and around the world – to find and enjoy.”

Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q® continues the football season promotional line-up with a entertaining photo contest. Professionals and amateurs alike are encouraged to strike their best Real Tailgate pose for a chance to win tasty prizes from the restaurant brand. Participants are encouraged to shove a box of Smithfield’s chicken under your arm like a football and take a photo while you strike that iconic Heisman pose. Every photo submitted will receive a $10 Smithfield’s gift certificate. In December, Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q® will post the five best photos on their Facebook page — if your photo receives the most votes, you’ll win a 20-person Smithfield’s party pack.

“Every season, we try to push the boundaries of traditional marketing a little bit, while still keeping our loyal patrons’ love for our Eastern North Carolina bar-b-q, fried chicken, and real football tailgating in mind”, says Richard Averitte, Marketing Director for Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q®. “And if we can add some fun, like with our ‘Strike the Real Tailgate Pose’ promotion’, we’re certainly going to get excited about it”, Averitte added.

The MESH was started by Hickory, North Carolina-based firm Jackson Group Interactive (http://www.jginteractive.com) and is dedicated to providing high-quality programs to a worldwide audience.  All of the shows are produced in North Carolina, with most of the talent and guests also coming from that general area.  JGI handles most of the production tasks, as well as hosting all of the shows on the network and promotion of each episode.  The MESH is currently a “Featured Podcast Provider” on the Apple iTunes Store, alongside major national television and media networks.

Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q is sponsoring Thomas Poole’s Stock 4 Cylinder Ford Mustang for the 2012 racing season at Wake County Motor Speedway, a ¼ mile asphalt race track located in southern Wake County.

Stop by with the family for food, fun, and meet Thomas Poole. Get a close up look at the #21 car on Sunday July 29th from 11-2pm at our Morrisville location.

How would you like to take the family to the races on us? The day before each race, we will be giving away a Four-Pack of Tickets plus THE Tailgate Special which consists of eight pieces of chicken, a pint of Bar-B-Q, two pints sides, two dozen hushpuppies and a gallon of tea. The contest runs until September 14th, the last race of the season.

There are just 3 more races at the Wake County Speedway for the 2012 racing schedule, Aug 10th, Aug 24th, and Sept 14th – so come out and support North Carolina’s favorite car and sponsor!
