SCNB Launches “For The Love of Bar-B-Q” Valentine’s Day Contest

Anyone can be passionate but only the lucky few know the true love of real Bar-B-Q. Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q’s delicious signature Bar-B-Q stirs the soul with an original family recipe that’s prepared fresh and served fresh daily inspiring romance and reaching lovers of juicy goodness across North Carolina.

Now is the time for lovers of Bar-B-Q to unite and make Valentine’s Day an unforgettable experience fueled by their passion and lust for the next taste of Bar-B-Q and all its mouth-watering side dishes.

Send your photo to contest@scnbnc.com with the subject line ‘Valentine’s Entry’ with a pint ofSmithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q that expresses the love, adoration and lifelong commitment to our Bar-B-Q on Facebook and you could win a $500 prize and a 20 person party pack.

Five photos that best exemplify the love of a pint of our Bar-B-Q will be posted on Facebook to be voted upon and the photo with the most votes wins the grand prize.

Photos must be submitted by February 14, 2012. The five best photos and poll will be posted on our Facebook page on February 16th and voting will end on February 20th. The ultimate Bar-B-Q lover will be announced on February 21st. We welcome creativity but since we’re a family restaurant, please avoid photos that would embarrass your grandmother! And remember, all photos must include a pint of Bar-B-Q fromSmithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q.

New Year’s Eve And Day Hours

It’s Cyber Monday at our online store!  Order 10# of Bar-B-Q and enter code “Monday” during check-out and save $25 on your order!  Enjoy 10# of our signature Bar-B-Q and two 16 0z. bottles of our vinegar-based sauce. Our Bar-B-Q can be shipped anywhere in the nation! The Bar-B-Q is made fresh prior to shipment and will arrive cold to the destination. We vacuum seal the product, freeze and place in an insulated foam cooler filled with cold packs to ensure the product stays cool for up to five days. Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q® Partners with Heinz to Feature Veterans Support Program

Through the end of the year, specially-marked bottles of Heinz ketchup served at SCNB will help raise funds and awareness for veterans and active duty military.

(Cary, NC) – Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q® (SCNB) is honored to announce a new way for customers of the NC-based restaurant brand to honor our country’s veterans and help raise money for the USO and Wounded Warrior Project™.

Teaming up with Heinz, the house-favorite ketchup brand served in all 33 SCNB locations, participants will be able to honor veterans and active duty service members by sending a digital “Thank you” card to active duty service members, help Heinz reach its $200,000 donation goal to Wounded Warrior Project, and learn about other ways to get involved and support our troops.

In support of this initiative, every 20oz “Upside Down” bottle of ketchup distributed by Heinz during this time will have a special label that includes a QR code that patrons can scan to have their participation count toward the $200,000 fundraising goal. Heinz will donate $0.57 to WWP for every thank you card sent or page “Like” on Facebook, up to $200,000. Customers can also text the word “THANKS” to 57000 to participate, as well.

SCNB will remind patrons who visit their 33 North Carolina locations to participate with “Our Turn to Serve” place mats and table tents detailing the support campaign, as well.

Additionally, a donation will be made to Wounded Warrior Project™ on behalf of Heinz and US Foods™ for every case of the specially-marked Heinz® Ketchup product purchased between 10/31/11 through 11/25/11.

On Friday, November 11, 2011, Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q® will sweeten the Heinz fundraising efforts by donating $1.00 for every tweet that includes the hashtag #TYVETS to the Wounded Warrior Project™.
